Can someone please advise me
i have a dell xps m1730 which boasts a nvidia 3D graphics card...what is this 3D function for ??? you cant play 3D movies on this laptop and even
when you connect this laptop to a 3D television via the dv-i socket you
still cannot play any movies in 3D cause the computer software will not
allow 3D function......im just very confused with this dell laptop cause it
has this dual 3D graphics card but what on earth is this 3D function for ??
the dell manual says nothing about this 3D function and there is very little
help on the internet about this 3D...why have 3D in a computer if you cant
use it ??????

Complex answer: FPS and various other games are 3D, rather than looking at your browser which is 2D, the NVidia GPU will accelerate 3D games as these are generally too demanding for the CPU to be able to cope with by itself.

More modern laptops can feature 3D screens and graphics cards capable of displaying a 3D image when wearing 3D glasses.
