Dell XPS 15z Trackpad multitouch

My wife is now on her third notebook...there seems to be something wrong with all of them. This one is a Dell XPS 15z. All seems reasonable enough, though the multitouch performance on the trackpad seems terrible. It is inconsistent and choppy at best. I have tried all settings and recommended patches for the trackpad on the Dell site. BTW. this unit uses a Cyprus trackpad and drivers. Should I try other drivers?

Do PC makers just not have trackpad multitouch performance down like the tablet manufacturers?

Is Dell not as good as other notebook manufacturers with their multitouch implementation?

Is this unit possibly defective?

Thanks,

I think it is partly this. I've used a few and yes multitouch isn't as seamless as they pretend it is. I've relegated myself to only using the two finger scroll as that seems to work the best.

the only touchpads i've used that are actually any better are macs and tablets
i don't think any pc i've tried has a touchpad better for anything than just scrolling up and down :\ (even then, steam sometimes messes up) that's why i just use a mouse when i'm not out and about
this is mostly using the stock drivers though, you might have luck trying some drivers from the trackpad manufacturer's website
