Dell... wtf... "free upgrade, add $60"

80 GB 7200rpm hard drive
48x CD-Rom
48x CD-RW
Sound blaster Live


all for $379... not too shabby for the kids... especially if I could get the extra RAM
BUT, they have "FREE UPGRADE to go to 512MB DDR" but want to charge $60 for that option.

is this unusual???

sometimes if it includes something else free or theres a rebate on it, they won't let you have two freebies.

I've never seen that before.. I wouldn't call in, though, cause' they'll probby screw up the deal.

$60 for a 256mb upgrade isn't bad.. but that is weird that they advertise it for free. heh

I'm just going to wait, I suppose. With the P-4 prices dropping, I'll take a wait and see what happens approach for the next couple weeks.
