Dell WinXP Home question

There are quite a few of the Dell OEM WinXP home editions floating around. Will these load properly on a non-Dell rig? I ask because awhile back I bought an OEM version of W2K sealed that was marked for use in a Dell and it wouldn't load in a non-Dell computer. Is this the case with WinXP Home?
 
That's what I was afraid of. Anyone else have any experience with the Dell-branded WinXP Home OEM CDs?
