This is by far the most baffeling problem I have ever worked on. This laptop have very special software loaded that is not longer obtainable, so I installed a spare HDD and ruled out a hardware issue. It is windows that is the problem.

Wireless: Originally it would show the networks, but when you connected it would say limited connectivity. I reinstalled just about ever version of the driver that dell offered as well as some genuine intel centrino 6200 versions to no avail. All I get now is a red X and will not find any networks.

LAN: It will connect, obtain an IP, but will NOT browse or ping anything.

I am lost at this point.

If the computer gets a valid IP address from the DHCP server, first check the LAN Settings on the Connections tab in inetcpl.cpl to make sure there is no invalid proxy set.

Then run these commands in an administrator command prompt:
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset

Reboot the computer and try again.

Also, try removing and reinstalling the browser software, or install a different browser to see what happens. Or maybe System Restore to a point before it stopped working.

I did those commands just now and then did ipconfig /flushdns as well. No change, same issue.

I did not. However I tired on two different networks, and it obtained two IP's automatically, and still will not ping or browse with any browser.

Is it getting a valid IP address from the DHCP server, or is it getting an Autoconfiguration address that starts with 169.254.x.x?

Well, It seems somehow that it is not obtaining ip or anything anymore.

From windows it says "Enabled" for the onboard realtek, but when you click status, it is blank. Nothing showing at all.

From command prompt when running ipconfig /all the wireless adpter and realtek adatper is not showing.

They are shown in the device manager, and when I show hidden devices there is no exclamation points.

So, I removed the wirless card, rebooted into safe mode and uninstalled the drivers, then showed hipped devices and removed the stuff from the device manager. Rebooted and resintalled the onboard LAN drivers, no dice.

Right click on the NIC Entry Choose Status and click on Details, take a snap shot and post it.

It looks like this.
