So I was helping a customer buy a laptop for his business from Dell.
If you go to this page you will see at the top a great deal on a Vostro with 3 gb ram and Windows Vista Business bonus for 529.00
http://www.dell.com/business/laptops?~ck=mn

Upon clicking on the link you go all the way to add to cart, then bingo its 780.00. Thats without changing anything. If you exit Dell and go in again, then it gets to the cart as 529.00.

It stays at 529.00 through out the whole check out process. On the LAST page where you are asked to click to submit your order it CHANGES BACK TO 780.00 !!!!!

Beware this ripoff.

I just put it in my cart without customizing and it upped the price to the 800 something range. When I went back and customized it I had to go through each step, all while watching the 529 price on the right. It jumped to 800 after a couple of the customization options, so I had to go back and complete the process. I eventually ended up here..

You're acting like there's some guy in "the back room" at Dell watching you make your order and clicking a button to make the price go up. Calm down. Call Dell and tell them. If it's really not additional software or service charges that you can elect not to buy, it's probably just a database problem.

Yes, I also ended up with it at 529.00 in my cart. And it stayed at 529.00 right thru checkout until the VERY last screen where it asks you to submit the order. THEN it changed to 780.00.
Tricky, tricky Dell.

Did I mention the Dell telephone line had me on hold for 40 minutes before I gave up?

DAMN MICHAEL DELL, DAMN HIM TO HELL

I'll bet he doesn't have to wait that long for telephone support.

Matter of fact, I'll bet the bastard has a naked Playboy bunny do his tech support.

Did you actually submit all your credit card info and go to the submit order page, cause that's where it changed for me?
