I got my brand new Dell x300 Laptop only 28 days ago (shipped on 10/23/03).
Today I was working and someone dropped something on my laptop or dropped the laptop in its bag.
And one of the corners was damaged.
The lower part actually has a piece of plastic missing and the upper (LCD) part has a tiny crack.
The laptop itself luckily still works.

I have the normal 3 Year Warranty that comes with it.
Does anyone have any experience with Dell and their Warranties?
I fine read their fine print for the warranty and damage because of accidents is excluded.
Will they cover this, especially since the system is not even a month old?
Any experiences, suggestions?

I didn't tell them what happened (which I can only guess) and only that the case is cracked in one corner.
They told me that the damage would be covered.
But I fear that they might back out of it.

This is just the worst that could happen right now.
I am getting sh!t from everybody and everything the last few weeks (almost months).
Nothing goes right and I am beginning to loose hope that my luck will change.

What did you tell them originally happened? I'm sure they were curious as to why your laptop was cracked/damaged, and for someone to call them up and complain 28 days later to finally complain about it.

No they will (should) not cover accidents like that if they knew the actual reasoning. You can take your chances and lie/not tell them the whole story though.

You can buy the warranty that covers any damage. If you did, even if you dropped it in the water, it would be covered. If you didn't buy it, then your out of luck.
