Dell UltraSharp U2312HM 23" IPS LED Monitor $200 @ Amazon or Newegg

This is the monitor I use on my main system, it's very nice if you want 1080p resolution with an IPS panel, and this is a great price. It does not include an HDMI input, but since it doesn't have speakers, that is pretty irrelevant.

Enter the displayed $20 promo code for Newegg.

I think this deal is about to expire at Newegg, not sure how long Amazon will last.

I picked one of these up for 189.99 a month ago during a Dell.ca sale. I must say that it makes the 4 year old CCFL TN monitor sitting next to it look like ****.

Wow, a whole 20% off at Newegg (I think the Amazon price went back up, it's showing $235ish for me)!

If only 1200p Ultrasharps would dip this low... anyway, good find, OP.

Great deal. Not to thread-crap, but I do suggest grabbing these from Dell.com if the price is comparable. They have a great pixel warranty and excellent customer service. I don't have experience with Amazon regarding monitors though. Newegg monitor warranty is so-so.

Dell charges $250 for them, possibly even more with shipping.

If only this has a HDMI port, I would be all over it.

Amazon customer service is always top notch for me. Been shopping with them since forever.

I'm tempted.

And how is there a $120 difference between the 23" (2312HM) and 24" (2412M)? What are the differences between the HM and M models, aside from resolution - 1920 x 1080 vs 1920 x 1200?

Well, the 2412M is 1" larger and is 1920x1200 instead of 1920x1080. Part of the cost difference is because the 2312HM has a better discount right now. Otherwise I'd expect them to be pretty similar. The "H" just means it's a 16:9 aspect ratio, whereas the 2412M is 16:10.

How does this monitor not have HDMI this day and age?

I have a 4 yo Asus that has HDMI and DVI, I hook up my monitor and HDTV afar. We switch back and forth whenever we want to watch movies.

1080p is getting old.. new resolutions should be taking over desktops soon. Unless you need a monitor now, I suggest you wait.

in for 1, ive been using my new camera and lightroom a lot since christmas and needed to get my little girl a monitor...so she gets one of my current ones and i get this. works for me

Good luck to you. I only knew $215 off XPS 8500 Desktop from email.

im guessing there is ungodly stockpiles of dvi ports and chipsets... and its simply cheaper to go with dvi right now.

Or because it's a computer display without speakers and it delivers more logical computer connections like DisplayPort, DVI, and VGA.

Saw this thread up again and wanted to chime in here.

Microcenter is showing $179.99 + tax on the 2312HM.

Tax for me puts this pretty close to the Newegg price but I do like the walk in return option if something is wrong with the panel.

I also have six of these - cant beat em for the price
Really should use one of those sw color setting apps
Never found a bad pixel
And 3 clicks on order history, Amazon will send out a new monitor, using your CC# as collateral for the xshipped monitor.
