i've been waiting on a deal..but did they ever fix the banding? last i read it seemed 50/50

Wondering about the banding issue myself. Believe I read somewhere that Dell issued a firmware update and it fixed the problem. Anyone else know for sure?

FYI, Staples will be selling the Acer AL2051 20" widescreen LCD for $329.98 OTD starting Aug 20. Wonder how the two compare... anyone?

The banding issue for the most part is fixed.


I've been trying to buy this with a coupon for a while now but everytime I get a coupon the price goes up to $450:|

Dell did a massive replacement for hte older revisions A01 with the newer A02.

Sorry I know this is off topic, but is there a fix for the banding on 2005 fpw's? Mine gets barely noticeable bands but it kind of pisses me off.

A couple weeks ago. I just happened to check Dell's site and they were mistakenly applying a $343 discount to both the 2007WFP and 2407WFP monitors. The discount was for an inspiron notebook. I placed an order for two of the 20" and one 24" monitor. The mistake was removed not even 10 minutes after I placed my order. Here's the order details from my lucky break:

I have not even tried the 20" monitors yet.. (still in their boxes) but the 24" rocks!! I've been using it for about a week now.
