I have a quick question for someone who has a 2005FPW.

How long is the included DVI cable??

I have a weird desk configuration so my base is pretty far from the current monitor.

The price of the 2001FP is back up to $799, but they give 25% off automatically for a total of $599 However, it was $749 when I ordered.

It's because those codes aren't valid anymore I believe. I tried them and did not get a single one to work, and I think that is the case, that the promotion is over.

price match is an unstated thing that they have in their total satisfaction policy. look on [ H ]ardforums for more details concerning that.

What codes are you taking about? the $35 off $350 still works. The 2001FP already have an automatic 25% off.. What else are you looking for?

Holy crap, yesterday I couldn't get any 25% off coupons to work on the 2001, which after much debating on I decided might be better for me, so I ordered the 2005. Now Dell has 25% off on the 2001 automatic on the website. I can cancel the order for my 2005 and get order a 2001, but I'm still undecided as to which is better. Anyone have experience with both that can share whether the 2005 has any better picture quality or less ghosting than the 2001. I don't know how much widescreen will benefit me, if at all, so I'd like other reasons to keep the 2005. I've read hundreds of posts in different forums but I've yet to see a definitve answer to these questions.

I don't recommend anybody buy a 2005fpw.

I bought one on 12/27 using 25% off plus 35$ off coupons 610$ shipped inc. tax.

It had no dead pixels, but almost 25% of the screen was blurred white. An obvious flaw anybody who turned it on could see. After reading hard forums and seeing dell sent refurbs with the same problem sif you called and complain, I decided to get a refund on this and just buy another.

Recieved my second today, plugged it in, NO BACKLIGHT LEAKAGE! WOOHOO!
But it does have 13 dead pixels... 5 of which are always on, near center of the screen.

This POS is going back as well.

Dell has no quality control on these. I can understand subtle issues some people are having, but both of the monitors I recieved have glaring flaws that anybody could see.

Forgot to mention, first one took ~6 hours and 9 calls to dell to get the refund in order.

Now on hold 45 mins for sending this one back.

Hour and a half on hold... still waiting... seriously, do not buy the 2005 until they fix their issues

Is that a direct #? My wait (partial run around) today was about 30 minutes to cancel an order.

No thats the 1-800-624-9896.

I did finally get through a fe mintues after that last post... they then told me I have to be at my house between noon - 5 on Monday for UPS to get it, no other options but to send it myself.

Last time I bought from Dell, they had not yet sent all their CS overseas. Hate to say it, but they destroyed what once was a good thing.

Ahh, mine won't let me use the $35 off code because I have to be at Dell home and I am using Dell EPP to get the 2005FPW because then it is only $636. I missed out on the recent savings, but oh well.

And now the "big boys" @ dell can make more profit this way...at least for the time being...;)

Good Evening,

I recently ordered a Dell 2005FPW LCD and took notice that the price dropped by $50.00 as of 1/4/2005. From what I understand, this meets the criteria for Dell's price protection policy.

Please let me know if this is true, and thanks for your time.

you'll get an AI response with the information about Price Protection

Can we expect an updated 2001FP anytime soon? 12 ms on the 2001FP would make it the ABSOLUTE PERFECT buy. Should I go ahead and buy one now or wait for a possible tune-up?

What is it exactly? How long do they cover a price drop?

That WOULD be nice, but then I don't think I'd be able to afford it.
