Dell UltraSharp 2001FP/2005FPW Digital LCD = $554

I ordered a 2005FPW yesterday with my 25% off code and the $35 off $400 code from yesterday. Can I call Dell back and have them apply this $45 off $400 and remove the previous $35 off, so I can get it for net -$10'ish from yesterday?

Why do people like this FP so much? Doesn't the 1703fp have 25ms response time?

I just picked up a refurb 173fp (16ms) for $139. Is the ultra-sharp that much better?

Nope. You'd have to cancel it and re-order, but it is not worth the hassle.

I'd love one of those 25% off codes (what with paypal and ebay I'd miss the 11/24 deadline)
I've got a Dellf 25% off 26" LCD TV that I'd trade if anyone wants it ($1499-375 = $1124)
Thanks

Well I just ordered the 2001FP two days ago for $564 (25% - $35) so that will have to do. I can't believe these things keep getting cheaper and cheaper so fast. I haven't even gotten the monitor yet.

173FP?

you mean the E173 ? those don't have DVI

you know you would think it would be easy to make a program for this....just have it fill out the information for you...remove turing image artifacts then use an ocr on it...

Yes, sorry. I meant the E173FP.

Is that the only difference? DVI input?

So, for gaming... Is the 05 or the 01 a better bet? I'm a little confused about the whole "widescreen" thing.

Hard to say. Some new games that are coming out are supporting the widescreen format, such as HL2 and Worlds of Warcraft. I would assume however that alot of lower profile games may not so you'd have to decide if the black sidebars were worth it. One thing I'm not sure on is the height of the panel itself. I would assume that if it's 20.1" at 16:10 then the height is much lower then on a 4:3. So it could be like useing a 17" monitor if you play 4:3 style games.

Product Highlights

* Watch DVDs in natural format and run multiple applications simultaneously
* Wide aspect panel improves productivity with less scrolling and toggling
* Supports advanced features like PIP (Picture in Picture) and PBP (Picture By Picture)
* Delivers distortion-free, sharp images with 600:1 contrast ratio and12 millisecond response time
* Panels pivot, swivel, and tilt to optimize viewer comfort
* Add multimedia capability to Dell? UltraSharp? 2005FPW display with the optional AS500 sound bar
* Dell-branded monitors undergo exhaustive testing for performance, reliability, durability and compatibility with Dell? systems
* Supported by Dell? Tech Support

This is one sweet LCD!! Hopefully the build quality is much better than the 2001fp..

I played the dellf game a couple of times. Are $550 off Dell HD Plasma any good?

I've got 2 of them

I think I remember reading somewhere that it only beat a recent deal on Dell Plasmas by $50. Because you couldn't use the coupon with the deal they had going at the same time.

If anyone ends up with a 2005 and 2001 please post a pic of it. One thing that's holding me back from getting the 2005 is the fact I can't see it in person. But at least a comparision would help.

hmm thanks for the info. I just checked the prices. You're right. I've got these other coupons. If interetested, let me know:

20% off Memory, Networking or Storage (2) and 15% off (2)
25% off any Dell Flat Panel (1)
$50 off Dell printer orders over $100 (2) and 1 @ 45 over $90

Can I use one of these monitors to watch TV? Cable? I want a LCD for a TV, and this seems like a great deal, but I want to make sure it will work for that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Jesse

Here are 2 25% off any dell FP codes that I just got:
$FLHT8BQF7CZVH

$FKGW8WCW9JKCC

I just ordered a Dell UltraSharp 1703 17inch using the deal the OP posted, and felt like I should give something back. Total came to 27x with tax, shipping, and a 8.50 ethernet printer cable to get over the 400$ mark. Thanks!

Thanks OP, and thanks Specialk92282 for the code (just used it).

I'll share one if/when I get one from the dellf.

Anyone have any luck combining these lately? I just tried online and it got shot down. Called and didn't get anywhere with the salesperson.
