Personally - the "proof" that the Thunder exists excites me because its further hope that the Lightning is also real. I *really* want the Lightning.

They're very nice looking phones, but Dell's a bit late to the party at this point. These things are supposed to release when? November-ish? A full six months after phones like the Evo and sporting the same tech inside? Meh, says I.

Not too sure about the whole curved glass thing either. I guess I'd have to play with one to determine if it's a good or bad thing.

Also, considering what Dell just pulled with the Streak, it'll probably release with 2.1 right around the time 3.0 is coming out later this year.

The Thunder has several references to CDMA and sports a SIM, it may be using the dual band Qualcom chip and be a multi carrier phone.

I'm not a fan of it's looks, and think Dell has a long ways to go before they're much of a player at least in the US.

The Thunder is running Android 1.6.

They were dev units from April, and it said one was running 1.6 and one was running 2.1. Far from final software, obviously.

The HD2 and Toshiba TG01 had the same internal hardware a year ago...Snapdragon is not impressive anymore.

However, if it really does release with a 1280x768 screen, THAT is impressive. Nothing on the market touches that, not even the iPhone 4.

Those prototype units ared dated back to April so the final version might have better internals.
I'd be really disappointed too if it was just a snapdragon.
