Dell Support?

I knew not to buy from Dell, but I just couldn't resist the price of the 2005fpw, and now I'm exchanging it for another one because the blacklight bleeding is just too much. Basically, I'm trying my luck, because there's no guarantee of the replacement being better. Anyway, I spent 65min on the phone with Dell to get a replacement. What's the quickest way to go through this process? Who else has done it? I first went to the returns people, and they said they didn't do exchanges, and they sent me to an indian guy for tech support, and he just asked me to do all the things I've done anyway as he read down a list (it seemed like he was just reading a list, at least) So is it possible to talk to someone competent at Dell? What number should I call, extension, when I want to exchange something? Something tells me I'm not done playing monitor swap...

I've had very good luck using their online chat tech support during U.S. business hours. I've used it several times for various clients' computers and every time got someone in Austin, Texas that actually knew what they were doing and were very helpful.
