Dell Shipping

They've always shipped to me much earlier than their estimate. With my last computer order, they shipped 2 days after I ordered even though I was quoted a 2-3 week turn around time.

Early....

I ordered my laptop and they said shipping date is June 1st. I got mine on June 1st.

GeForce 7800GT. Ordered on Aug 12th or 13th? whenever it came out, got delayed like a b!tch till Aug 26th (ship date), meaning I wouldnt get it till maybe Sept? I got it on Aug 25th (my bday). Oh what a wonderful surprise for me when I went home that day.

Oooh.

I've ordered 2 from them, the last one being about a year ago. Both came in about 4-5 days.

One had a HD fail shortly after buying and i had the replacement about 2-3 days after talking to them on the phone.

Yessir. But I kind of wish I didn't know when it would show up, because now the next 2-3 days will take forever, and that's especially bad since I work the next 3-4 days.

However, it saves me the disappointment I feel when I get home from work and there's no computer.

Another vote for early, the estimate is useless or dell is trying to make you feel better about them by shipping earlier than quoted.

this is a basic business strategy, give your customers a later completion/delivery date than is necessary to follow through on. Then get it to them "early", customer thinks the world of you.

experienced all three with about equal occurrence of each; but i've also had expected delivery dates that were all over the place, too.

I ordered my brand new E521 on Sept 15th, and they havent even built it yet. Of course they quoted me a ship date of Oct 2nd, but I was hoping to get it sooner.

Ordered the same one on the 20th. They quoted the 9th of October, but over the phone they said 2-3 more days. It's been in "production" since Thursday/Friday.

Damn, damn, damn, damn, DAMN!!

My mom was the one who was making the calls for me because of that financing business. Well, I asked her to call again this morning to change my monitor to a 1907FP for an extra $50. She told me that they quoted her an arrival date of "2-3 days", but when I asked he again, she said he might have meant that it would take 3 extra days, because they have to change the contract.

🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁
