I ordered a laptop about 2 weeks ago, it finally shipped and noticed that it was being shipped from Chicago, IL. It "Left FedEx Origin Location" yesterday and today it arrived at Sort Facility in Chicago at 6 in the morning. I thought dell was based from somewhere in Texas? i'm actually in a suburb of chicago, so are the chances of getting my laptop tomorrow highly probable?

The laptops are actually made in Malaysia (Edit) and then shipped to a U.S. warehouse for distribution. It is highly probably that you will get your machine in the next two days.

What did you order btw? :)

I got a Dell Latitude D600

$1200 in the end after coupons! (and another 25 from fat cash)

Base with CDRW upgrade, Truemobile 1400 802.11b/g, 40gig 5400rpm.

I had ordered my Latitude 5100 on the Thursday the 18th, and received it the following Monday the 22nd. I doubt they actually make them overseas and ship them - just might take longer if there is a back order, etc.

Damn nice laptop!

What are the differences between the D600 and 600m?

Well, after reading the Dell community forums, apparently the D600 uses a three different metals to strengthen the body. A smartcard reader is also intergrated into the laptop. Also a extended 3 year warranty comes standard with it. Also, no fruity blue colors :D Though I liked the black plastic from their old Latitude C series, silver is quite decent...
