Dell SB Warm Desktop Deal 15% off -100MIR

I know that AT doesn't allow coupon codes to be posted, so I won't be posting any of them, but I recently received an email from Dell offering 15% off SB purchases of $799 or more. If you got one of these, you can put together a smoking system at a decent price. DellSB is offering a free CD-RW in the 2nd bay, discounted (free) MS Office Basic, $100MIR (or double RAM) and a free upgrade to an 80GB Hard Drive. Plus Free Shipping.

I ended up configuring a 2.8GHz (800bus), 256RAM, ATI9800PRO, 48xCD, 48xCD-RW.

The total was $786.75-100MIR=686.75 total. While the deal isn't insane, it's pretty darn solid.

When I ordered it, the site was broken, so I couldn't get the free CD-RW, so I called a CSR to have them put it on there for me. Hence I don't know if the price/deal will come out the same now that the site has been fixed to allow the free CD-RW... Hopefully some others can get in on this deal!

I just went back and reconfig'd a more baseline system... You can get the same system as above, but with a 2.66GHz proc (at 533) for $809 -15%=687.65-100MIR = 587.65 + tax on 687.65... Perhaps warmer for some who don't want quite as fast a system.

yeah deal isn't bad. i tried using the coupon on a 600m, it'd replace the 100 IR withe the 15% if i added the coupon ... sucks

Here is the text with the coupon.

Offer excludes: Dell LCD TVs, MP3 Players, PowerEdge SC Servers, Latitude D500, Inspiron 1100 and 5100, and all Inspirons with mail-in rebates of $200 or more. Offer expires midnight (CST) December 5, 2003.

To bad the inspiron 1100 and 5100 are excluded. It might work out ok with a low end latitude though.

I configured a very nice 2400 system with a LCD.
