umm I ordered the s330 on the $310 deal...i never received my order confirmation, but i got my acknowledgement....did anyone get their orde confirmation with the order #?

Yay, my S200 has changed status. Oh wait, look: "Your item(s) has been cancelled upon your request." So you mean my request yesterday where I called to make sure it wasn't cancelled? Because it said to contact them by the 18th? And the CSR said "sure, that's no problem, have a great day!".

Now I have to call them again and convince them to reinstate the order at the same price, and I probably get bumped to the back of the queue. What incompetence! Everyone should check their orders.

-Edit-

Well, they re-placed the order at the same price and covered the difference. (Seems they have no problem looking up the S200 in their system.) So I'm not TOO pissed at them anymore. But I'm getting awfully familiar with the Dell phone system.

i just called dell regarding my order confirmation not coming through for the s330 order i made on 4/16/02 3:30pm.....still no order confirmation so i called em and they said that the online order dept noted that the s330 order was "complex" or something, which caused the hold...........strange.........ill have to call them if i can find the number.

I ordered the S330 yesterday, got an acknowledgement and a confirmation e-mail within an hour. Estimated ship date May 30 2002.

oooooooooooook well i just called again...i called the sales dept and they said that they cant find any order that i made within the last 2 days, and they said it probably didnt go through...............i guess ill try to place another order tonight...

*ok made my 2nd order...hopefully 1st one truly didnt go through as csr said and the 2nd one does.*

yeah got my order confirmation and order #, i went to the website and it said the following

Delivery Estimate: June 1 - June 7

Status as of Thursday, April 18, 2002 6:18:45 PM Central Time

1. Order Processing: Thursday, April 18, 2002

2. Pre-production: Thursday, April 18, 2002

lol i guess they updated their order status interface......i never seen it like this before

anyhow, the confirmation email said "Estimated Ship Date: On or before May 31, 2002", but the website begs to differ.

the 15% off digicams coupon is for small business purchases, the $50 off $400 is for home customers, dell's not letting me combine them

To all those who have called Dell...HOW DO YOU GET A LIVE PERSON ON THE PHONE???

Maybe I'm an idiot, but I can't get past their automated system. It is driving me nuts. All I get is one recorded message after another that each start by saying (to rub salt in the wound), "In order to expedite your call, please ___________".

i feel ya man, this is what i do

1) get any recent order # that you have
2) try to get to dell's customer/orderstatus service menu, then they'll prompt you to enter order#
3) a rep should come up, and it's like they never knew that you entered an order # in the first place!
4) i think it's just dell's way of giving customer's headaches.

or
5) just go to the sales dept and chat with them, maybe they can lend a lil of what lil brain they have.

1. Ordered 4/2 (Original date. Couldn't find $50 off coupon)
2. Ship to: CA
3. ETA: 5/15 (delayed of course
4. Ship next day

rpr,

to get a live person try this:

Call 1-800-915-3355, Option 1, ext. 43784, then take option #4 to "modify an online order" gets me a live body every time, usually with a very short wait.

good luck!

I got my acknowledgement yesterday but still no confirmation. I'm gonna give up on it, don't feel like waiting until June for a camera that I don't REALLY need :disgust:

I might be wrong.
But is S330 much better than finepix 2600? since both have 3xoptical, both are 2.0M, both can capture movies. but finepix is only 240 bucks

Apparently the estimated shipping date they give doesn't mean much...

I ordered a ZR40 camcorder yesterday with coupons and free next day shipping. I received the confirmation mail in half an hor sayin that the estimated ship date for my order was on or before May 29, 2002... I thought about cancelling my order today, but couldn't find the time to call them... Anyway, when I got home tonight, my new camcorder was waiting for me! 🙂 Nice surprise!

<< what's the max amount of memory the s330 can take in? 256mb or more or wat? Does the same go for the s200? >>

I think whatever CF I maxes out at.

how is this a better deal than the Canon A40? Same 2.1mp, same 3x zoom, same movie modes. Only difference I see is tha A40 has a plastic case, uses standard AA batteries and costs about $250 from shopper.com and is probably cheaper elsewhere.

Besides the S330's metal casing and fraction-of-a-inch smaller size, how's it better?

Here's a review of the A40

I have the S10 now from the deal posted on here a year and a half ago, so it's about time to upgrade and taking videos sure would be nice 🙂

whatever the current maximum CF size is, which last time I checked was around 512 for CF I, which is what the s330 uses.

don't expect them to work the 5 gig CF I cards five years down the road though 😉

Order: April 19, 2002
Estimated Ship Date: On or before Jun 03, 2002
