Hm...I think you are really outdated, not the camera.

First, S330 is one of the newest models from Canon. If you don't print out your pics in BIG siize, S330 is already good enough. I print 4x6 and 5x7 photos taken by my Canon S110 (which is also 2.1 MP) with my Epson 875DC, the picture quality is stunning. Unless you need to print 11x14 or bigger, S330 can sure satisfy your need.

By the way, if 2.1MP is considered outdated, then so is 3.3MP. The newest one is Canon EOS D60 . This monstor is 6.52MP! And the BODY alone will cost you $2,000!

I'm sorry if this question was answered hundreds of e-mails ago, but what is the maximum cf card you can use in the 330? 128 or 256? I looked at the specifications on the Dell and Canon websites, but I couldn't find it. Some charts implied that the max was 128, but I don't really know.

I love the s330, it takes really nice pictures. I sold my olympus c-3000 (3.3 megapixel, 3x opt zoom) and downgraded to this...although I wouldn't call it downgrading persay. I like the size of this camera compared to the olympus cause the lens sticks out an inch on the olympus. However my LCD screen has two dead pixels, one is red the other is blue. Oh well.

Why do people use high ISO ratings? It seems junk to me cuz the pics come out so grainy and low quality. Can someone explain the benefits of it?

So on indoor/night/sport shots, you can get a better shot... but like you said, it is grainier.. there's just a limit to it's usefulness IMO.. altho i haven't seen any printouts.. which might hide it better. it's sorta like artifically giving you lower apeture and higher shutter.. sorta.. heh.

Jesus! I just got off the phone with Dell. They transferred me to 3 different reps. and finally, to an endless hold listening to elevator music. The whole process took little over 45 mins and all I got out of them is: "Sorry but there's nothing we can do." Of course this is pertaining to the delay of my s330 (ordered on 4/2 and delayed until 5/15).

to all the people that already have their cameras shipped: please state which camera you ordered and when.

Man they are really pissing me off.

And oh yeah, what's the max CF capacity this camera will hold? I plan to go out and purchase a CF card this weekend.

Here's a backwards way of calculating this, read this S300 review which includes a little chart of how many low/med/high res picts you can squeeze onto an 8MB CF (as opposed to your 128MB or 256MB). So if you want 128MB multiply the number by 16 and if you want 256MB multiply the number by 32.

Yes it can shoot 640x480 movies, but it's only 4 secs worth! I tried it and it's alright, not something to write home about. The 320x240 movies is probably the best comparing both size and length.

BTW I can get 100 pictures with high on a 64MB card, not that I'll ever use that much.
