Dell pre-order on the Canon S200 digital camera, $289.10! S330, $335!

man....i ordered the s330 thursday morning and supposedly got delayed until 4/16

Can anyone tell me why I shouldn't order a Minolta DiMAGE X for ~$336 instead of the Canon S330? Its thinner and lighter, both are 3x optical zoom...

raterS - To try to answer your question, the X is a point and shoot, no manual settings, no spot focus, use of the SD card vs CF card
Volume of the camera is very close to S200, 122cc for the X vs 133cc for the S200. Half the weight though apparently.
The big problem of the X is it's novel zoom system which unfortunately produces poor picture quality, a "video" look and very bad corner softness - read more here:

Now, my question, where did you find it for $336 ?![

I picked up an s30 from Dell. That's what I was really looking for from a reputable vendor at a decent price. Even the cheapest one on cnet is backordered at $419. Yep, I think this is as good as it's gonna get.

as cool as the DimageX looks, it doesn't seem to be quite up there w/ the quality of the canon's.

Amazon indicates the S330 is in stock, so hopefully Dell does have some to ship to a few lucky individuals. Amazon is giving a way a free 32MB of media for digital cameras, but that is worth only $10-$15. Wish there were better coupons.

I ordered last friday late afternoon the S200. They called me to confirm my shipping info and I asked when they were shipping it. They said today, so that I should recieve it tomorrow. I guess we'll see eh?

Same here. I ordered on thursday morn though. The shipment date I got was 4/2/2002. I received a notification of delay mail from them but the site still says that my shipment date is 4/2/2002.

Yeah it says that mine isn't shipping til the 3rd still. Maybe the girl who called to check didn't know what was up though I'd like to think she checked inventory when she told me yes. They called me about 9:30 tuesday morn.

The good thing is that I haven't recieved a email telling me it's been delayed either.

Just checked the Dell site and the s200 isn't on there anymore, but the s330 is still. Uh oh...

Try checking the Dell site for your ORder Status. See if there's a tracking number. Man, I wish I'm that lucky!

weird you know what? i came home tonight at 7 and my mom told me that earlier that day Dell had called her workplace, to confirm that my shipping address was really my shipping address. My question is: HOW DA HECK THEY GET MI MAMA'S WORK #!? And hopefully they ship mine soon too Anyhow, my mom said that it was the correct address and they were like "ok" and hung up.
