These power supplies although only rated @ 250 are very good performers.

You should have no problem adding all of your goodies unless you get a bad PS.

I did the 3.2 last Sept. ...

Does the 2.8 do hyperthreading?

So did I. :)

Yes the 2.8 should have HT technology as well. I believe it's on any P4 chip above 2.6 or maybe even 2.4GHz. :D

I just wish it had more places to put case fans. I'd really like to put one in the front behind the bezel.

If you're buying this be sure to add the Logitech PS/2 2-button Mouse with Scroll & Keyboard to your order.

It's FREE!

How does this case differ from the 4600?

I just want a quiet basic PC to install my Happauge PVR-250 TV tuner capture card.

Does this have AGP? If not, what's a good bang for your buck PCI card (with DVI)?

Extremely quiet & yes AGP 8X.

I also have the Happauge PVR-250 in mine right now & works great.

There is only enough room for two hard drives & I've got mine filled with 2 160GB.

This is a nice price but keep in mind you'll need to add more RAM or replace what you get altogether, a 'real' video card & the OS.

OS is easy ... become a Microsoft Partner and get 10 licenses for XP Pro (and almost all other Microsoft products) for $299. Then buy 10 of these Dell puppies and set up a home network that KICKS A !

Thanks OP.
I ordered one yesterday at $298.
Since I don't play many games, or overclock this should work just fine for Me.

I am going to sell the AMD 3000+ and Asus K8V that I just bought and use this for my main desk top PC.

You should also figure in the fact that you get server support for this machine. This means you get US reps and no-BS support. I recently had a mobo issue with my 3.2C (the $600-$100 rebate deal last year) and they didn't even hesitate to send it out to me. No knee-jerk reactions with repeating the same lines from scripts (as I've heard from people who've had to deal with their 'other' support); just people who seem to understand what you're talking about.

Looks like Dell has upped the price by $24.

Yep, AFAIK all you need is an OS.

Does this come with a video card?

Jumped on this deal a couple days ago. Great find, I'll just upgrade the RAM to crucial unbuffered 512mb PC3200, swap out with a 120GB hdd, and integrate a better video card.

What suggestions do you guys have for a good video card around $100 or so? I don't play games often and don't overclock. I am just looking for something clear that I can watch DVDs on without any delay.

Would not think one would require a $100 card for those tasks listed (many lower priced cards will accomplish the tasks listed above), but in the end the choice of video cards is a great deal of personal preference. Would suggest perusing the video card listing of Newegg's refurbished section, which can be found here. If set one is set on spending that amount, should easily find a high quality card along the lines of a 9600 Pro/XT or FX5600/5700 series (dependent upon one's video card company allegiance) under that price threshhold.
