Just picked up a nice Inspiron 5570 with an 8th gen i5, 1920 x 1080 screen, for $350. They have higher-spec PCs available, but I just needed a basic model for browsing.

That's a laptop, right? That sounds like a really good deal. I wish I had some spare change to pick something like that up myself (still chugging along with Atom and Puma+ laptops).

I bought a loaded Dell in 2016, with a i7-6700HQ, 16GB RAM, GTX 1060, 1TB SSD, etc. I just don't need that much of a high-end machine (I've never gamed on it once since I owned it), so I'm going to give it to my oldest son since he starts engineering school this spring, and it meets the hardware requirements to run those engineering programs on. I thought about buying him a newer higher-spec laptop after the college sent the hardware requirements, but instead of spending $1k+ on a new one, this CPU is not much slower than any of the newer Intel mobile CPUs.
