Something similar happened to me. I called, got passed around from rep to rep. Then, finally, some rude manager gets on and says: "So what do you want us to do about it?"

I replied: " Did you want it back?" so he said: " We'll send someone from UPS over to pick it up."

They came by and took it. From the experience, I should've just kept it. Save myself the time and trouble of talking to customer service reps.

Lost lots of my time waiting on the phone too. And you know what? Not even a THANK YOU! :|

My suggestion: keep it.

Dell doesn't have "customer service", I have had similar problems with them!

I've had friends who have experienced this. Extra memory, extra flat panel, but never an extra system. In both cases, Dell has never charged them (going on a few years now...) and they never contacted them about it.

Keep it.
Cancel credit card.
Never sign your real name on reciepts and always sign with you non-writing hand.

Anyone remember ValueAmerica? I got in on that whole ordeal and ordered a weight bench for about $35 shipped (it was $150 without the ValueBucks or whatever). I got the bench and was happy enough with it. A week later, I got another one. I called them and got a huge runaround and they told me they only send 1. I told them I had 2 of the exact same benches on my floor and that they both had the same order number on them. I finally got someone who gave me authorization to ship it back to them. So I did. About a week later, I got *another* bench. I just ended up keeping it and giving it away. They shut down shortly after. 😉

I will go out of my way to right a wrong, but after a certain point, I just give up and let them take a loss.

Same thing happened to my friend also.. He ordered 1 Axim and got 2. He got excited, thinking that they sent 1 free.. They charged his account until he returned the second one.

I believe anything anyone ships to you is yours. If you had a contract to by one and they sent you one then the contract is completed. If they ship you another one without a contract, they can't charge you for it. However, giving it back would be the right thing to do...or at least giving them the opportunity to retrieve it.

keep it

all too often, in fact all of the time, the burden is always placed on the consumer. Well, this time in this case, screw em....let them figure it out.

If something is screwed up, burden is on you...always...you prove it, you bring it back, you wait forever, you get shatty service, you get the runaround, you get a piece of crap..etc.

that is all

If you didn't sign for both the UPS and FED EX deliveries, call Dell up and say you didn't receive the shipment at all. Who knows, they might send you out a third and forth system. 😀

Just Kidding.
