Dell OEM Windows XP

I was going to pick up a new OEM copy of Windows XP professional on Ebay. The going price is around $125 (includes sp1) but there are a lot of copies that are OEM for Dell computers and sell for $50-60. What is the problem with these copies. It would seem to me that the OS should be identical. Is there a problem with registration, etc. I fear trying to get a bargain only to get screwed.
