Anyone else having a problem with their 2005FPW backlights shining through VERY brightly at the corners? I have it happening at the top two corners, specifically the top right is really bad.
So Sadhu your running dvi, and when you run a movie fullscreen with black bars you dont get brighter areas at any of your corners? I noticed this really bad when i was running down a hall in counterstrike source, it was kind of a dark hallway and up in my top and left corners it looked like there were lights shining down, but when i turned to look there were no lights, it was the glow from the backlights on the monitor. This is also EXTREMELY apparent during the loading screen of counterstrike source when your connecting to a server, or if you just have a really black image on your screen.
Please apprise so i know if I need to seek a refund or if its just a faulty monitor.
Thanks-
I run in the digital mode only. I don't run in analog at all. With regard to the problem with movies and light showing through ... I can't run a movie here to test. Even if I could, my movies run wide screen. I don't play games, and so there are no black bars down either side. But I also don't see why the black bars would prevent a different situation from just looking at a pure black desktop. I can tell you when I run the pure black desktop, there is no problem area where the light leaks through. It looks pretty much the same as the 2001FP ... pretty black in the corner with no real evidence of lights ... shinning down.
There are lot of users in this forum who have purchased or have FPw monitors on the way, who might be better equiped to duplicate what you are doing than I am. With any luck, some might chime in here soon.
For my part, I don't see a problem with the monitor. Black is black on my FPw. In fact, I'm pretty impressed with the level of black everywhere, even in the corners. For a monitor that I orginally thought could use a lot more saturation of color (and perhaps it's a tad less than the 2001FP ... which is great in this regard), all that said, the blacks on this FPw are pretty darn BLACK.
