I am thinking on buying these 2 monitors for my builds. The monitor I want to buy is the Dell 2713HM 27" 2560 x 1440p. The monitor I am buying my girlfriend is the U214H 24" @ 1920 x 1080p. Are these good monitors?

I don't think that they're best picture quality wise but dell does have the best warranty and I use them for my monitors.

So what monitor is best about display / panel / picture quality? I don't give a bloody darn about warranty.

Personally I do not like Dell computers, but I like their monitors.

So more or less I think they are.

A 2560 X 1440 27 incher would be rocking I'd think.

Depends one maybe the refresh rate etc maybe compared to some things.

I bought one of these off NewEgg flash months ago for $399, was skeptical at first as others were going the cheap Korean made monitors that weren't 1080 and were 1440, but after using it awhile I love it myself.

Looks they've cheaped out a bit on cables too, got a few more than that att.

I don't have much choice of brands in my beautiful country, so if I were given a choice between Asus and Dell, which one would you choose, PQ / panel wise? IPS probably.

I am not by any means trying to hijack the topic, if it's done, it's unwillingly.

Probably a personal choice from what I've seen, I've been pretty impressed the IPS here myself.

I bought myself another Dell ....this time it was an XPS 27" Touch!! Multi-touch display with Anti Glare and Adobe RGB QHD resolution (2560 X 1440), the highest resolution you can get in all in one touch desktop.

4th Gen Intel® Core™ i7 processors
Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro options available
Up to 16GB memory and 2TB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive + 32GB Solid State Drive
Benchmark busting graphics with NVIDIA® GeForce GT 640M 2GB card

I just love the Dell Monitors...just superb!!

I gave my Dell All In One Inspiron 23in touch screen to the wife!!

I have to confess that I'm a big fan of high quality va panels however I do have a dell ips panel on one of my pc's. If I were buying a new monitor today it would be another dell.
