Dell Mini 12

Does anyone own one? If so, would you recommend it?

I want to get a netbook, but am not really sold on a 10" screen.

I noticed that ram couldn't be upgraded and that the harddrive seems a bit on the slow side.

I just want to surf, and listen to music without having to turn on my computer in the morning.

If anyone has any good ideas chime in😀

For what you want, get the smallest, cheapest netbook you can find. Newegg would probably be a good place to look. Also keep checking the Hot Deals section of the forums. They often have netbooks for 250 or less.

I would probably recommend a used or refurb'd lightweight 12.1" laptop. IBM makes some good ones and I think I've heard good about some sony vaio's too. Only real concern would be the battery (since its used), but you'd get a pentium m/centrino, big ide hdd, upgradeable ram, and a real keyboard.

If you can put up with the little keyboards and screens on conventional netbooks thats the way to go. The mini 12 just doesn't seem to offer anything to me - slow processor (compared to other light 12.1's), capped ram, slow hdd.
