Now I'm curious which laptop you will receive as a replacement.
Which model, condition and specs. Damnit I wanna know!

Let me elaborate...
I have personally experienced (through friends and dealing with Dell CS for them as free tech support) on three occasions computers being replaced with entirely new units because attempts at repairing them were unsuccesful.
Case in point: one laptop had to have the motherboard replaced on two separate occasions, three new hard drives and a display until the thing finally quit - it was under a three-year warranty and was about 1 1/2 years in. Dell shipped out a box, we sent it back to them and had a new laptop back within two weeks. It was a current-model laptop, too.

I know, I was gonna go out but I can't take the chance of missing the update.

Yes that is messed up.
I bought one and was going to sell the old one after repair but now I may keep both.
The wife really likes the new one.
