Well I can assure you that if it is a lesser system than the next call will be to get return authorization on a bunch of systems we bought for other customers and they know it!

Now I'm curious which laptop you will receive as a replacement.

Which model, condition and specs. Damnit I wanna know!

Let me elaborate...

I have personally experienced (through friends and dealing with Dell CS for them as free tech support :p) on three occasions computers being replaced with entirely new units because attempts at repairing them were unsuccesful.

Case in point: one laptop had to have the motherboard replaced on two separate occasions, three new hard drives and a display until the thing finally quit - it was under a three-year warranty and was about 1 1/2 years in. Dell shipped out a box, we sent it back to them and had a new laptop back within two weeks. It was a current-model laptop, too.

Well that's thee thing he said it will be the same as mine OR similar.

I told him that it needed to have ALL THE FEATURES mine had.

Burner/DVD/firewire(yes I have used it)/radeon graphics and he said it would.

I know, I was gonna go out but I can't take the chance of missing the update.

You know you are a nerd when................;)

It's Friday night, go out (the outside light only hurts your eyes for a few moments).

Specs???

Well I have the order number and the service tag and to be honest I am having some issues getting any info from the wife or dell's site. So when I get home I will check it out.

Yes that is messed up.

I bought one and was going to sell the old one after repair but now I may keep both.

The wife really likes the new one.

I really like my 6000 but it is kinda big. I wish the Dell Latitude D610 was discounted more often but that's geared towards the business crowd who can afford it. For the price I paid ($748 nicely loaded) I ain't complaining.
