I'm looking into buying an lcd from dell, my 2 choices are the 2001FP and the 2005FPW. As far as I can tell the only difference is that one is widescreen and the other isn't. Is that the only difference?

the 2005FPw has 16ms/12ms response time

and it ABSOLUTELY PWNS!! i dont understand why people need huge@$$ 20" 4:3 monitors

i  my 2005FPw 😀

yeah, you JUST missed a great deal

i bought mine around new years for $484 shipped 😀

I'm seeing 25% off dell monitors right now on the site without coupon... is this the 25% off you guys are talking about ? 2005FPW is $749 with 25% off = $561. This is the best possible offer on it right now, isn't it ?

EDIT> The 24" WS will probably be nearly $1k to start... but may likely drop the 2005FPW price. But again, that may just match the current 25% off price.

The 2405FPW is *supposed* to be availabe March 1 in the US & Europe for $1200. At that price, it will already be the cheapest 1920x1200 (native) LCD available. Since we've all come toe xpect Dell coupons, seeing this unit dip below the $1K mark shouldn't be a far-fetched idea.

So they have more usable space and pixels than the shortscreen 2005FPW.
