Dell LCD Deals

I hope this is the right section of the forum first off, if not, sorry moderators.

My question up for discussion is this,
Why buy LCDs from dell with stackable coupons for X price when you can typically get a new
Dell 2001fp, 2005fpw, or 2405fpw for equal or less on ebay new in box w/ warranty and no worry about if its in stock, etc?

I'm heavily considering purchasing one or more of these monitors and want to know from you deals experts out there why I should wait for Dell deals instead of going through ebay?

I added a poll for those of you that don't feel like a full fledged response.

Thanks.
Hunter

It's my first post on this forum although i read it daily and i've never seen this issue addressed and am very interested in getting some pro's opinions.

Well, you are in the wrong forum, so be prepared.

However... FWIW I understood that warranties on Dell monitors aren't transferable. ie, no warranty if bought on eBay. And you will find them cheaper direct from Dell if you buy when the right coupons and sales are out there.

Sorry for not reading the rules first, i just assumed that this was the correct place to question the validity of and ask for opinions of the Dell Deals that are talked about by thousands in this section of the forums. But thanks for your responses anyway

#1 Ebay prices are not as good as dell's best deals (which people are taking advantage of and then offering them for more on ebay.)

#2 It is worth it imo to even pay a little more to buy direct from dell and avoid the potential ebay pitfalls and hassles.

Well you know what happens when you assume?
Go to the other forum where this belongs.

Now that is the truth.

look at the insane shipping costs for ebay dell stuff - sometimes close to $100 for "shipping"! Compare that to almost always free shipping with Dell.

Because Dell treats monitors as an E&A (electronics and accessories) purchase and warranties are NOT TRANSFERRABLE.

r

Why not from DELL? Granted I know the stackable coupons come and go but why is it so hard copying and pasting a few codes....

😕

The reason is very simple why buy from dell or a retail store even better. I have been having a lot of trouble with dead pixels, especially from the samsung 712N. I'd rather pay more for an LCD in order to have that insurance that I can return it if I see a dead pixel. E-bay or websites don't hvae that. They say, oh if you have 6 or more dead ones we will take it back. To me just one is enough to make the LCD unusable. I mean is there seriously a person here who would be satisfied with a dead pixel on their LCD...hell I'd be looking at it all the time...I'd go nuts. But maybe its just me... ;-)
