Well it looks like Dell has upgraded there system to not allow coupons at the same time as promo's since coupons seem to not work on the 15% Storage promo as well. Well there goes all those awesome Dell deals.

somewhat related... since my ati card can only accept 1 DVI monitor, would I be wasting my money on getting a really good monitor for a second (dual) monitor... as it would be forced onto analog? assuming i don't get a dual DVI card of course.

i have the PX 17" planar on my dvi slot. i wanted to get a matching pair but it will be on the analog port. should i opt for the $399 dell 17" instead? with the 20% that will be smokin cheap.

They are selling these monitors all year for 20% plus 10% plus 5% or a $ coupon . You would think that
at some point either the price would go down or the discount would get increased .

Actually most Dell LCD's are rebadged Samsungs.

For instance Dell 1900FP = Samsung 191T.

Even better, Dell LCD's have a nice 3 year warranty (when purchased from Software & Periphs). I've had to use that warranty on a Dell 19" CRT (rebadged Sony G400), they sent a brand new replacement Dell 19" CRT via Airborne Express OVERNIGHT, I shipped back the broken monitor in the same box. Total cost to me was $0.

Has anyone else noticed that they are not discounting the nice new LCDs (1901FP, 1703FP)? Perhaps they are trying to clear out stocks of the 1800FP and 2000FP (plus those other non-Dell LCDs) in preparation for new 18" and 20" models.

Of course $400 for a 1800FP is still a sweet price....

My computer lab just got 100 of them, 17" LCDs, after 2 years of Dell FD 17 which were really nice. Big waste of my $ at my lil Community College.

Why do you say that? I have both and perfer the 1800 over planar. I think the Planar slightly ghosts more IMO....

According to spec, the 191T's contrast ratio is 500:1 whereas the 1900 is 350:1... that's a big difference (I've owned 3 LCDs in my time).

Dell is so shady! 1st they came out with the 20% off select LCDs a couple days ago and the 20" was $799. The promotion ends 10/8. Today, I got a 10% off entire order and I was gonna add it on the 20% to make this a sweet deal. Just checked the site and they bumped the sale price to $879! :| WTH! Dude, Dell sucks.

Still kicking myself for not getting in on that Dell 1901FP for $411 deal. I want this LCD soooo BAD ... drool
I really hope a deal on this LCD comes back soon.
