I hope it is OK to post an individual selling things here. If not I apologize in advance.

I purchased a spare Dell Laptop power supply for my Dell 2650 direct from a guy who sells lots of them on ebay. It was very inexpensive compared to buying one direct from Dell. It is definitely a Dell branded power supply, and appeared to be brand new. I received it promptly and it works perfectly. It is powering my laptop as I type this. The great thing is he seems to have a lot of different ones for all different models of dell laptops - and IBM, Toshiba, HP, Compaq too, per his auction listings anyway. He told me he takes paypal and money orders, I paid via paypal. I believe my 2650 power supply sells for $39 plus shipping at dell, minus a discount coupon of course :) . He sells them for various laptops for $25-$45. Drop him an email and find out what one for your laptop sells for.

My dell battery has about an hour+ life, so now we have a power cord in the living room AND the bedroom!

Another note for the sceptical: I don't know him, I've never met him, I have not communicated with him since my purchase, and I have no under the table deal going with him. (I better email him to let him know I posted this though, because it is a great deal so he will probably get a lot of inquiries).

I would suggest that you buy your power cords only from a reputable supplier - whomever sold you your machine or a reputable dealer or direct. Batteries and AC Adapters can really screw up your machine. I have used IBM and Belkin ones, and the Belkin one is flaky. I am concerned because I have seen some off-brand batteries (nothing wrong with APC, but not for batteries).

Yep, go to Dell.com, search for parts for your machine. I've ordered 3 of the replacements for my Inspiron 4000. The first couple broke right near the plug that goes into the laptop. I'm not exactly light on it but jeeze... Same thing happened with the second. The third has lasted longer than the first two combined so maybe I got defects? Odd, but whatever, moral of the story is buy from Dell.com. They usually have refurbs for ~ $20 as noted above.

Now if only they still had a spare keyboard in stock. I wouldn't mind owning a spare...

Just a note that the power supply I received from this guy is definitely a dell power supply with the dell brand name and part number on it, and appears to be brand new.

I'll bet you that it is a refurb. All of the refurbs I've ordered from Dell look brand new. Some things are a good deal at Dell.com. People buy them and resell on eBay.

Thank you. I'm definitely not the seller.

Frankly the refurb power supplies/AC Adapters that Dell is selling for $20 look pretty darn good too.
