Dell Laptop Nvidia Driver Problems

Anyone else seeing this problem? I have a Dell Latitude D800 with an Nvidia 5650 in it. When I run Dell's older 6-series Nvidia drivers I get around 40 to 50 FPS in Day of Defeat Source... but with their newer 7811 Nvidia drivers, I only get around 10 to 15 FPS. Shouldn't the newer drivers work better (or at least the same)? Same thing happens in World of Warcraft too. I've tried comparing settings and tweaking things around, even running DoD-source at different DirectX levels, but there's no change.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

You might want to try these drivers:

Link to Dell Mobile Forceware 82.10 Drivers

They run very well on my m170 (6800 Go Ultra) and I8200 (440MX Go). These drivers also include the new Nvidia Conrol Panel which is accessible from the desktop by right clicking in an empty area. They are beta, so YMMV!

Games I run on my m170:
Call of Duty & Call of Duty/United Offensive
Call of Duty 2
Quake 4
Halo
Brothers in Arms
Half Life 2 & Lost Coast
Far Cry

All run great and no unusual textures seen. BTW, each game runs at 1600x1200 or 1920x1200 with details maxed out, 8-16AF, no AA. All games are very playable for me at these resolutions.

Thanks...
It looks like Dell ommitted the powerslider option from their 7811 series driver (and instead just placed the power use on it's lowest setting). Those drivers (as well as some hacked reference drivers I found for mobile chips) seem to work great.

Thanks!
