So I've been calling around and calling around trying to figure out my Dell preferred credit #. I finally get it and I mention to the lady on the phone, "I'm all set up for no interest until October just like the guy on the phone told me right?" She's like nope, I didn't qualify and I got a regular charge. So I now have to pay off $2050 by July 7th or I get to pay 27% interest. WTF do I do? I got a smoking deal on my 9100 but I'm getting screwed here!

I got approved for $3000 in credit, how could I not qualify for free financing until Oct?

Edit: Oh it gets better... Im on the phone with customer service right now and they say I don't qualify for any rebates. WTF? I bought the extra 4th year of warranty b/c it came with a $100 rebate.

If anyone knows which dell # to call about this, please LMK. Ive called about 6 of their different numbers and Im really getting pissed off. I either get some Indian who transfers me, or an automated system that does me no good.

Edit2: Looks like rossman has bailed me out! for $5 more I get a computer with a dvd burner and a better screen! 1 less year of warranty, but who cares. Now I'll just put it on the credit card like normal anyways... itll actually give me 1 more week than dell would to pay.

Can you cancel the order?

If not, can you transfer the balanc to another credit card with zero or low interest for "X"% for a specific amount of time?

yeah i would cancel it. Or talk to management.

they tried this with our dell account. We were supposed to get free financing for 6 months. But the first bill came and had a finance charge. I called up and complained and they fixed it. But i was on the phone with 4 different people before it was fixed.

Though i paid off the darn thing (a 2400 dell dimension for my father-in-law) in 3 weeks anyway.

How did this happen? Someone on the phone told you that you were getting no interest, right? Did you ever sign any forms? They should have a recording of your conversation with the original guy.

I wouldn't pay the 27% interest without a fight. But, that's me. :p

you should have confirmed that you would get the no interest card before ordering a computer. return it or pay the crazy interest, or complain and probably get no where, i don't know how this forum can help.

Yeah, just tell UPS or FedEx or whoever that you're refusing delivery, and call the whole deal off.

True, they can tell you instantly whether you qualify for it or not. I applied the CC online, and was told instantly that I dud not qualify for free financing. But I ordered anyway since I got 2% off and I have no problem paying it off immediately.

CANCLE IT!

There's a difference between being able to afford something and not minding when a company bends you over & lubes you up... and he can't cancel it, as it's already in the mail on its way to him.

If you can, send it back for a refund. Knowing Dell, they'll probably have like a 15% restocking fee or something; companies like that don't let you go when you're on all fours and they're behind you. Figure out if the restocking fee will be more than what you'd end up paying in extra interest and do whatever's cheaper.

As others have suggested when the laptop arrives REFUSE DELIVERY which is your best option because:

1) Otherwise you have to call Dell, get an RMA # ... that takes at least an hour jumping through all the hoops.
2) You have to pay return shipping to Dell which is around $25 insured.
3) Less hassle and you'll receive a refund quicker.

I might be able to get you 15% off a new 9100 order, I'll PM you the details.

Just cancel it, if you can...sounds like you have no idea how to find the money to pay for it, in which case, you shouldn't have bought it. I know, I know, that's what the financing was for, but this is how companies make money on those deals. People can't pay or forget, and then are hit with a 25%+ rate.

Good luck man, that's a good amount of dough to just "dig up".

When you check your Dell Order Status, when you click the order details or system specs does it list the $100 rebate offer?

If it does, you qualify.

If it does not, you do not qualify.
