They're just giving people more options. Most corporations will still go w/ Xeon servers.

ROFL.. 2 years too late, imo.

I lost an arm and a leg (well.. about $6000 exactly) when I carried AMD from 1999 to 2004 speculating that eventually Dell would be forced to sell AMD chips.

It's about fvcking time.. Though, I wouldn't mind Dell hurt a little more. I cannot stand computer companies that believe they're above using standards and protocols for computer part interoperability.

Guess Michael Dell must have died.

I believe he said "There will be no AMD chips in my machines over my dead body".

We're kicking the Xeons to the curb for our computational clusters. Opterons just smoke them and for less coin.

Intel will never go away, and I'm glad. Competition leads companies to produce better products at a lower price, is that not what we want?

I don't want Intel to go away either, despite my obvious bias towards AMD. Competition is what drives technology forward and prices down.

Wow, I had no idea intel was that low! Not that I'd consider buying it, lol.

Go AMD, its a huge foot in the door.

I wish I had held on to the stock when I bought some at $14 and bought more.

I had to sell it about a year later because some things came up. I'm just now getting back into the stock market. Yesterday actually I just picked up some shares at $34.
