Dell Insprion 530 Q6600 Question

I have a new Insprion 530 with 2 gigs ram and a Q6600 Quad processor. I know the bios is locked to not allow adjustments for OCing. Is it worth it to do this seemingly easy looking tape mod to bump me to 3ghz (1333)?

Absolutely it is worth it. The OEM heatsink that comes with the Dell will easily cool that G0 revision Q6600 @ 3Ghz @ stock voltage.

ok so just use black electric tape from what i understand? If i dont put the tape on just right will that snuff my cpu?

Just make sure you get the correct pin to cover with the electric tape. I don't see how anyone could screw up this mod. You have a 99.99% chance of success, but I still have to warn you that if you do manage to mess it up, well... I can't be held responsible. If it were mine, I wouldn't think twice about that easy mod. Again, just verify you cover the correct pin and be delicate and precise.
