I can purchase a Dell i6000 with the following specs

Intel® Pentium® M Processor 735 (1.70GHz/2MB Cache/400MHz FSB)
Genuine Windows® XP Media Center Edition 2005
Microsoft® Windows® XP Media Center 2005 Edition backup CD
15.4 inch WXGA LCD Panel
512MB Shared DDR2 SDRAM 2 Dimms
FREE! 8x CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW)
128MB DDR ATI's MOBILITY? RADEON X300 PCI Express x16 Graphics
40GB 5400rpm Hard Drive
6-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery (53 WHr)
No productivity suite- Corel WordPerfect word processor only
Starter Entertainment Pack - Basic digital Music, Photo and Game experience
Dell 1370 Internal Wireless (802.11b/g, 54Mbps)

for $923, no shipping, no taxes, is this a good deal? I'll be upgrading the ram and HD later on my own.

I'm pretty much clueless when it comes to laptops, my last laptop was a walmart special for $800 and it's not exactly the best (good CPU, crappy video).

Thanks!

thats about $200 less than what I purchased mine. (though mine had XP pro instead)

Same specs too - minus 256mb ram, 1.6 P-m, just a combo drive (no DVD burner), ....

Well damn now I think about it, its not exactly the same! :p

I am pleased with my lappy. Better than what you can get at a wally world thats for sure. Gaming wise it does fine, dont expect to play fps graphic resource whores though but for any other games, its does ok.

Thats about 30 bucks more than what i got mine for, but mine has bluetooth, a quicksnap cover, an extra power adapter and the wsxga screen. Yours has MCE and 512MB of RAM (bought mine with 256).

I would say that's not as good as the deals have gotten in the past. However, Dell coupons seem to be nowhere near as good as they were a year ago ro so. So yeah, I'd probably buy it.

Well, I went ahead and ordered it, and it wasn't a coupon, I ordered through the Exchange Online store. They also changed the price as I was ordering, so it ended up costing me less then I was originally configuring it. I got a single 512mb DIMM (so I can add one later) and a 60gb HD, and the price was $963, instead of $976 :D
