Dell Inspiron 1150 Laptop Harddrive

I've got a friend's laptop and it is pretty dead. I pulled out the harddrive and I have a 2.5in ide > usb cable to hookup to my desktop to get the data off of it. The problem is that it doesn't seem to have any power as the drive never appears on my computer (server 2k3). When I pulled it out the of laptop it had this odd ide connector on the end of it. I can only guess it's some Dell power/data component. There is no other spaces or holes for power just what looks like a small slave/master 4 pin jumper.

I tried the search but came up short, any ideas would be appreciated.

The data cable is the power cable, remove the proprietary dell connector, and then hook up the USB data line. If it is not turning on then perhaps you are not feeding it enough juice, hook it up to either a rear USB port, (preferably one where the other port in its 'stack' is empty) or to a USB hub.

Well it worked when I plugged it in the back of my PC, 'cept Server2k3 doesn't know what to do with it. Figures, thanks for the help.
