Well definately this monitor but read some of the other reviews and then read customer reviews. On more than one occasion I found the actual customers more than pleased with the products ZDnet dislikes.

Same here. I use 1280x1024 on my 17" LCD and it's perfect. At 19" though, I'd want 1600x1200.


I also thought this was the DELL 1900 OEM. Edit title to reflect it's a Sceptre?
 
i use 1280x1024 for my 17" LCD, but i think it's a little small. IMO, i think it'd be perfect (for me at least) for a 19" to have 1280x1024.
 
1280x1024 IS perfect on a 19". Capital letters on the default Windows font are just barely over 2mm tall at this res on a 19" LCD. I sit 2ft away from the monitor and I still find myself leaning forward to read real small text or image thumbnails, so I personally wouldn't want things any smaller. Maybe my eyes are just going to pot as I enter my late 20's. 🙁

I'm 99% certain this Sceptre is a Planar clone, and the Planar image quality to me is exceptional. I wish it came with a DVI cable though.
 
hopefully the OP can change the title to reflect the actual item.. was also thinking of the 1900FP
 
Got the Sceptre 19in LCD yesterday. It came with all the cables, DVI, analog, usb, and audio. It's the 9x-s Naga (silver front). It's hooked up and running now on analog thru a Ati Radeon 8500 vid card. It is as good as my Dell 18in LCD (analog) and the VPX 18in (DVI). Yes, I'm broke due to this forum. Looks great playing DVD's and RTS games, I haven't played any FPS games yet to really check out ghosting. It replaced a 20in Sony Multiscan CRT for cad apps. After a couple of more days, I'm switching to DVI. For the price of $549 it's a great deal. Iwill tell everyone if this comes up again, go for it. 😀
 
Did you order the X9G and got the X9S? If so, that's even hotter. Going by memory, the X9S was $60 more than the X9G or something like that.
 
I ordered the X9-g, which was what is on Dell's web page. The X9-s is what showed up. I wasn't aware of any price difference. I love this monitor. 😀

They are just right for most people at 1280x1024. I personally prefer 1600x1200 or above, but 1280x1024 is certainly acceptable.

That's lucky, now I regret not ordering. I wanted the X9S but figured it could wait till the price came down to that of the X9G.

Did everyone else who ordered get the X9S subbed for the X9G too?
