Dell gives up on Linux as a desktop option.

Not surprising at all. Linux isn't really a desktop OS. Not for the average user anyway.

Yea like anyone was able to find it as an option on desktops, and it cost the same as getting an MS OS (thanks to the MS tax). Dell derives over half their revenue from systems sold with Linux preinstalled.
