True, but anything that keeps AMD in business, makes me happy. I want a C2D, but not at $1,500 for an E6300.Originally posted by: Avalon
I think it's good for AMD, but I don't care about it since it won't affect me one bit. I'm not buying a Dell.

The Dell amd systems start at $329 for a sempron 3400. The motherboard even comes with a separate pci-e slot so you can upgrade the video. Better than the old celeron boards, which had no video slot.

Wow, they have a 6300 C2D system for $999, and right beside it, a X2 3800 system for $719. all other compoments are identical !
I know the C2D are a little better, but $280 for at that level ? no way......

You must have missed the 19" versus 17" LCD part....
But yes, big price gap.
Consider motherboard cost as well.

The C2 system has the 1707FP, which is better than the X2's E177FP. Look at the X2 system to the left ($999). To bring the E6300 up to the same specs, its only $70 more.
Moreover, you can get the Dimension 9200 with a E6300, 1GB blah blah for $529.
