Get it replaced if its still within the 30 day warranty.

Is it HD compatible? So Dell says (with the rest of the the xxx7 line). Unfortunately there are about 3-4 components on computers that are still not HDCP compliant, so I'd say the monitor is the least of your worries.
 
it may be too late now, but just push the button on the base and the screen will (be able to move up) release. if you push the screen all the way down the base will lock again.
 
with my 1905 i had to apply a little downward pressure (while pushing the button) to get it to unlock sometimes.
