No USB hub or extra video inputs. Just a DVI port and a VGA port, and supposedly the same panels.

I thought it was determined that it was a 6 bit TN panel?

Anyways, great deal!

*edit* btw, where did you get the coupon?

*editx2* From Dell's website: "Usually ships 1-2 weeks" Looks like it'll take a lil' while to get there.

Ok, how come it doesn't sport the "Ultrasharp" label? I don't see it anywhere in the description. This is a hot deal if it's the same panel.

According to troop at FW there is also a stackable 25 off 150 coupon to make the deal hotter, but his post is dated on the 21st.

Do you have an Ultrasharp Dell to compare to so we can put to rest if it's a comparable panel?

"replace?" Well, I guess that depends on what you want it to do.

But don't put a ton of stock in the response time since there is no universal way to measure it. One monitor with a 16ms response time could actually be alot faster than another with 5ms response time.

And 6 vs 8 bit is the color depth that each monitor has.

Check out xknight's excellent LCD buyer's guide.

8m/s is supposed to be good for games, so 5m/s should be awesome

Why post this with your ebay coupon? Not everyone can get one of those, fix the title to the non-coupon price.

Yeah, that's just more than a little irritating as I went to buy to be greeted with $290 price tag.

Grrrr...

You can not purchase a 3$ coupon from ebay? It shoots it directly to your email you know just as a FYI.

The ebay coupon is what makes the deal warm to hot. Spending 99cents to save 20% of $289 is a good bargain to me.

That's what I did for the 2407.

I just got a 2407WFP and I'd be buying a second one if I could tolerate the response time for FPS games?just not fast enough to replace my NEC CRT. Better than my 2000FP obviously, but no...It's not even close enough for me to want to get used to it. I play @85 Hz, by the way.

Well FWIW on the LCD you should be setting it to 60hz when you play...it might not give as good results if you use something like 85Hz and try to get the LCD to display it.

I took your advice and got a $30 off $150 off Staples coupon off Ebay.

It arrived right away and Staples Online *seemed* to accept it. I'm waiting for the order rejection e-mail/call tomorrow. ;-)

I didn't buy the Dell monitor, but a different 17" widescreen for $139

So the question is, where are these people getting all these coupons and are they really legit?

the ebay coupons are quick as hell, just do a Buy-It-Now, pay with it via PayPal, and you will receive the coupon in your email within seconds.

Wow, if this is the same as a 2005/2007FPW except without the USB hub, composite and S-video inputs, this is HOT!! (none of these three things are really that important, though I use the USB hub daily and composite/s-video are good for watching TV or playing game consoles)

5ms response is awesome. I notice a little bit of tearing and ghosting with my 12ms 2005FPW, but its still great for games, even coming from a nice AG 19" CRT.

But again, I guess we don't know for sure if its the same S-IPS panel (or did the 2007FPW use a *VA?)... because it is a E-series, usually those didn't have the same panels as the Ultrasharp Dell models.

Still though, either way, awesome price. Would suit most users well except for enthusiasts who game a lot or do photo work.
