Dell DJ 30

I'm thinking of getting the Dell DJ 30gig mp3 player. To all who have own it. How is it? It is on sale right now for $269. Is it worth the money? Thanks.

$239.20 right now. I'm thinking about grabbing one. Anyone have one of these? Hard to complain about the price.

I've had my Dell DJ20 (2 gen) for a few months now, and really like it. It replaced a Creative Zen Xtra 40gb because I never could get used to the scroll wheel on the side. The barrel scroll wheel on the DJ20 makes it much easier to move around the menu.

Any problems with distortion when you set the EQ? I've read that in a few reviews.

I haven't noticed anything, but I rarely use the EQ to maximize battery life.

so it sounds good not EQ'd?

I'm not an audiophile by any means, but I think it sounds fine with the EQ turned off. I can tell a difference with the EQ on, but I'm fine listening to it with the EQ if I need to squeeze as much battery life as possible (like on a trip).

The DJs, like the Creative players, have a relatively high sound push in dB (like 90 dB or so), and mine sounds nice and loud at mid-volume levels.

If you haven't found it yet, the best place to ask questions about the DJs is the Dell DJ Site
