Dell Dimension 2400 not compatible with netgear phoneline?

I have a netgear pa301 phoneline network setup, and i recently purchased a Dell Dimension 2400. It's very base, the only upgrades being a cdrw and more RAM. Anyway, i took the pa301 out of my old comp and put it in the new one, and it works great the first time i start the comp but after that every time it says "code 10: device cannot start."

I've tried drivers, changing PCI slots, disabling onboard ethernet, safe mode. ANy other ideas/suggestions? Could this be some other compatibility problem?

did you check for irq or memory conflicts?

Well, I really cant because it says "this device is not using any resources because it cannot start".

I recommend switching the PCI slot it is in. Try the slot furthest from the slot it is in currently. Sometimes the are device conflicts with certain PCI slots on certain motherboards.

put the card in a different machine and see if it works there, if not then it's possible the board was fried when changing computers with it.
