I personally did this. Figured if it was a bad a Cam I could e-bay it and make 50 bucks.

Got the The HP PhotoSmart C315 for 60 bucks not bad for a 2.1 Megapixel with 2.5 X Zoom comes with an 8 Meg Card.

Amazon reviews were pretty good. This should hold me over till the next cam deal comes along!

I would check that rebate slip for the HP camera... it may be tied in with a photosmart printer purchase. Was looking for a dig camera the other, saw a $100 rebate (no mention of another purchase necessary on Dell's site) but after clicking on it read the form and it was for a combination purchase of a Photosmart Printer and HP camera...
Again, I could be wrong... but I would take a quick look if I were you (look at the rebate form, not Dell's description)
