Since addition of this crapware subsidizes low Dell prices, would you guys buy Dells at the higher prices they'd have to charge if they DIDN'T accept the money for installing the crapware?

I saw this over at techb@rgains. This may not be that hot, but it is free and it's pretty funny. Quick way to "de-crapify" your recent hot deals Dell laptop purchase.
EDIT: Ah. It's just a homemade AutoIT script. Use at your own risk... or perhaps BENEFIT!!![]()
You can start here. AutoIT can be pretty useful regardless of whether you're going to use the de-crapifier script or not.Originally posted by: BigLar

I hate to admit this, but I've never run (knowingly) a script before. Anyplace I can get instructions on how to use this bad boy?
I haven't done any scripting that I know of myself. AutoIT looks pretty fun to mess around with. Thanks.Originally posted by: geecee

Anyone using Dells (or any other same-hardware system that's ordered in volume) in a business environment needs to get a customized image together. You can even give Dell your company image and they'll preload it for you. That or use a hardware drive duplicator or your favorite drive imaging program. Sure saves a lot of time and makes setups and restores a breeze.
