Dell has low prices? I guess thats why you can get a sweet XPS 600 with a Pentium EE 955, 2GB of DDR2-533, and 2x 7900GTX's for the low-price of $3909, and I can build a system with an Opteron 170, 2GB of DDR-400 @ 2-3-2-5, and an X1900XT+CF for $2000~.

I spec/buy/configure the PC's for my work....first thing I do is a manual "decrapification". :p

EDIT: Ah. It's just a homemade AutoIT script. Use at your own risk... or perhaps BENEFIT!! :D

I hate to admit this, but I've never run (knowingly) a script before. Anyplace I can get instructions on how to use this bad boy?

You can start here. AutoIT can be pretty useful regardless of whether you're going to use the de-crapifier script or not. :)

I haven't done any scripting that I know of myself. AutoIT looks pretty fun to mess around with. Thanks.

You can even give Dell your company image and they'll preload it for you. That or use a hardware drive duplicator or your favorite drive imaging program. Sure saves a lot of time and makes setups and restores a breeze.

dell charges $75 per machine to load custom images.

We make one and ghost them ourselves, about 1100 new pc's each year.
