I am typing this on my old Dell 640m laptop with a 2GHz C2D. I maxed out the RAM years ago and put in an SSD last year. It has the 1440x900 screen which isn't bad by TN standards. I bought this laptop in 2006 and it is still serving me well. Office apps, Coreldraw, photoshop, and even moderate video editing. The C2D's definitely have legs. I just save the heavy lifting for my desktop.
