I was wandering what kind of cooling solution DELL use. I don?t think that parts they use in their systems a made by the company it self. I think the by all required parts in block from other companies. I?m wondering what CPU cooling solution they use in their systems (like Dimension 4300).
Elaborating: What company do they bye their parts from.
Thanks.

No idea what company, but I believe they just have a fan ducted onto the processor, and one in the front... although I'm not too sure.

I can speak on the Dell Optiplex line. It has a standard case fan on the back with a custom duct going over a very thin coiled heatsink. I think it is pretty cheap looking. but it does the trick.

They have thermal engineers that design the cooling systems for reliability, cost effectiveness, and low RMAs. The actual parts are then manufactured from different companies across the world. If you ever look at a Dell system, then you'll see what I mean -- the ducting they use is definitely not something you can buy off the shelf.

I concur with vegetation

Dell has all kinds of cooling (quite a bit of them looking like ass too!). Yep those custom passive P2 heatsyncs they used, with weird fins and junk looked like hell.

Dell seams to like ducting to the processor, aluminum cpu heatsyncs, and back ventalation fans. I have a 1.5 P4 at my work, and I've openned it up a few times, and I don't recognize the heatsync as anything I've seen before (but then I'm all about AMD processors), also sports a duct, and a back vent fan.

I have a DELL sys.
The cooling solution looks very nice, and it is quiet too.
I was wondering if it is possible to by something like it for my other PC?
I guess not :)
Thank

You can make your own ducts out of plexiglass. I ducted my Alpha P3125 with dual 60mm fans to a 92mm Sanyo Denki exhaust. I may try removing the 60mm fans and aluminum shroud to see what kind of temps I get...
