Dell buys Alienware

Wow, i didn't think it would happen. I guess i was wrong.

I still think it's stupid though. All they needed to do is build some good gaming PCs, and put themselves to the top. With Conroe coming out soon, they don't even have to leave Intel in order to take the performance crown.

Dell said Alienware would operate as a wholly owned subsidiary and will keep its brand name and its own product development, marketing, sales, technical support and other operations.

Looks like it'll have both.
 
They have to offer AMD still, or there goes sales to Voodoo and Falcon. Unless Conroe is that amazing that they can get by without AMD. That is a big if at this point.
 
At least we won't have to hear about the inferior Alienware support anymore....or will we? 😛
 
somehow i saw this coming....both companies use intel cpu's. It was just a matter of time for one to acquire another.
