DELL: Buy one, get one half off deal

Their prices seem really inflated under this "sale." For example, I bought a HP laptop earlier this week at Staples for $800-$50 ER=$750. Dell's laptop with the same features, is $1233 and won't ship until 9/22. The exact same laptop configuration, ordered through Dell Home (and without the 50% savings on a second computer) is $874 with the same 9/22 ship date.

In summary, it looks to me like Dell is jacking their prices up to counteract the 50% savings.

I agree. The base 1525 laptop for this sale costs $719, but is going for $499 elsewhere on their site. This is probably a good deal for 2 expensive computers, but not two cheap ones.

If you're looking for a 1525, check out the one Best Buy will have for $450 starting tomorrow. It's $599 on Dell's site (already on sale from $779)

Yup, the prices are regular MSRP type prices, so you really won't save much if anything at all.
I got a Dell for $370 with a 19" monitor a while back, and they have 2 for $599 x 1.5 ($900) WITHOUT monitors.
